Someone else already mentioned, "Hackers" by Steven Levy, which was great. Levy's "Insanely Great: The Life and Times of Macintosh, the Computer that Changed Everything" was also a vey good read (and only $4.99 for Kindle edition!).

And not sure how well it's aged, but I remember "Accidental Empires: How the Boys of Silicon Valley Make Their Millions, Battle Foreign Competition, and Still Can't Get a Date" was a fun, breezy read.

Steven Levy's book about the creation of the original Macintosh is also wonderful.

"Insanely great" is something that Steve Jobs used to say. It became a Mac ad campaign [1] and a book was written with that title [2]; I haven't read it.

I think this phrase is a little piece of computing history. I, for one, would like to see it make a return. I think it implies a product with a powerful emotional connection to its users. Shooting for insanely great is something that everyone should do with their products.
