After working for the Department of Defense and the CIA, I was inspired to write a series of espionage novels about Janusz Soltani, whose Polish mother and Iranian father immigrated to the United States to escape oppression. Through these tales of intrigue, I hope to both entertain and inform readers about terrorism, the dangers of radicalization, and the threats posed by regimes that support Islamic extremism. Unlike other stories in the spy novel genre, I explain what motivates the extremists by delving into history, ideology, and the world-view of their leaders.
