I think Steve Jobs, Jason Fried and many other design geeks can relate to this experience in their developing years.
It is what it is. Psychedelic means mind-manifesting so the two should go hand in hand anyways. I think people just overthink enlightenment and miss how simple the universe really is. Ancient wisdom and modern science are coming together and revealing the same truths.
