Anything that combines Nietzsche with a "slow information diet" gets my interest.

Nate Anderson's take [1] feels resonant with me, although I've moved a long way from "Just Saying No" towards deeper tactics of intellectual self-defence.

My experience of promoting "digital veganism" [2] is that the underlying psychology is very complex. So much more than simply entreating people to have concrete goals, focus and careful choice of information is required.

There are forces at work related to self-esteem, sense for good living, dignity and interpersonal dynamics, social status and much more.

A powerful influence on my writing in this area has been psychology as much as philosophy. For example Adam Phillips "Missing Out" [3] and the works of John Bowlby on attachment theory.

Building healthy relations with digital information technology is a long road I think, and one that requires significant courage and tenacity.
