The book "Turtles, Termites, and Traffic Jams -- Explorations in massively parallel microworlds" [0] describes StarLogo, which was a massively parallel version of Logo. In it you could create, say, 1000 turtles in the center of the screen, and the puzzle was, when you told them all "forward 100", what shape would it draw? The answer was a circle, since they all start with a random heading.
This was initially implemented on a Connection Machine. Very interesting book, highly recommended.
